EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-Exempt

Base Pay Rate: $17.50/hr

+ $1 Bilingual English/ Spanish

+$1 AIRS Certification

Currently working from home temporarily due to Covid, however employees will be expected to work at their assigned worksite in Ventura County as needed or when we are able to return to offices.

SUMMARY:

Connect Access and Functional Needs (AFN) community with resources to create a resilience plan before the onset of PSPS events. Provides person and family-centered support for individuals across all ages and income to maximize emergency preparedness. Assist management in project activities.

DUTIES:

  1. Provide high quality, multidimensional information and assistance services to AFN communities in multiple counties.
  2. Complete caller assessment and assist callers in creating safety plans for power outage. Facilitate caller’s connection to services and programs, including Medical Baseline and battery backup programs.
  3. Maintain regular contact with partner agencies that support AFN Customers to identify available services and resources.
  4. Provide detailed data on customer interactions for reporting.
  5. Support the development of disaster-oriented 211 website content and maintain site with updates, as needed.
  6. Support 211 disaster work including but not limited to training, call center support and resource updates.
  7. Discretion and tact in handling confidential and personal information.
  8. Report technical or programmatic issues as neede
  9. Some travel may be necessary to support projects.
  10. Extended hours as needed in times of disaster in any county serve
  11. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organization, oral, and written communication skill
  • Ability to master new systems and assist in process developme
  • Excellent customer service skill
  • Proficient in Office 365 programs, such as Excel, Outlook and Word, databases and other computer programs.
  • BA/BS degree preferred or combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with social service programs and systems preferre
  • Professional experience working with community groups serving people with access and functional needs.
  • Knowledge and/or experience working in disaster related services preferred.
  • Must work well in a team environment.
  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
  • Successful background and criminal clearance required and maintained, including but not limited to California Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI, Child Abuse Index and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
  • Proof of a valid California Driver’s License, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance (listed as covered), pass and maintain driving approval, as required by our insurer.
