Happy 13th Birthday 211VC!
Every day, thousands of people nationwide call, text, and web chat with highly trained 2-1-1 specialists who help them find and access food, housing, health care, financial coaching, job training, disaster resources and more. Since forming on February 11, 2005 as California’s first 2-1-1, 211VC has:
- provided assistance during multiple tragedies and disasters locally and nationwide, most recently including Hurricanes Irma & Harvey, the Las Vegas mass shooting, the wildfires in Northern California and the Thomas Fire and resulting mudslide
- provided 2-1-1 services for 18 counties state-wide
- started push-text capabilities offering assistance in three ways: Call, Click, Text
- connected over 42,000 community members in 2017 to health and human service resources, the highest rate since becoming the first 2-1-1 in the state of California in 2005
211VC is a program of Interface Children & Family Services in partnership with County of Ventura, First 5 Ventura County, and United Way Ventura of County and supported by: Dignity Health, Kaiser Permanente, Ventura County Community Foundation and the Cities of Camarillo, Ventura, Oxnard, Simi Valley, Port Hueneme, Moorpark, Ojai, Thousand Oaks, Santa Paula, and Fillmore.
