Today, the Oak View Park & Resource Center is the success story of a Community Works Project.

The community of Oak View, through the efforts of Save Our School Committee, Oak View Civic Council, Ventura County Supervisors, Ventura County School District, Ojai Valley Friends of the Library, State of California Park Grant, and many other generous donations, helped purchase and develop the property for public nonprofit use.

Most importantly was the Oak View area assessment district which voted to self impose a tax to fund and sustain the project through time.

The long term plan was to create a nonprofit resource center that would include the Oak View Library as the core tenant.

These buildings have historic architectural significance known as the "Ojai Section."

In keeping with our mission of preservation, it is our strong desire to emphasize the concept of sustainability in the restoration and beautification of the site.
