- DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: NAMI - Ventura County (local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is a self-help group of families and friends of persons with mental illness including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, schizoaffective disorder, OCD, panic attack, co-occurring brain disorders, and addictive disorders. We provide education and support through a monthly general meeting, newsletter, family support groups, and our NAMI Family to Family education which is a 12 week program structured to help caregivers understand and support individuals with serious mental illness. Call for information about the NAMIWalks in honor of individuals and families who struggle with mental illness, to raise funds to expand our programs, increase public awareness and erase stigma.
