• DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: SBA's purposes are to provide information related to spina bifida including progress in the areas of medicine, education, legislation and financial support, to help fund research into the causes, effects and treatment of spina bifida and to encourage the training of professionals involved in treatment. SBA provides an oasis of services such as: a toll free 800 information and referral service; INSIGHTS, a bi-monthly newsletter for members; a liaison to other organizations sharing similar goals; a professional advisory council on education, medicine and legislation; an annual national conference which brings together leading professionals to discuss current scientific, medical and educational issues and define areas of further need.
